BELL RINGING SEASON 2021
Time & Location
About the Event
WOW!!! We were able to collect nearly $15,000 for this BELL RINGING SEASON.
The United Way of St. Francois County Board of directors and I would like thank all of ringers and donors for their help and assistance. At one time we weren't sure if we were going to get to ring at all. But thanks to the good people at Walmart we were allowed to ring on a limited schedule of hours. We usually have about 1200 total hours of time that we can fill at the two Walmart locations, but this year, due to the ristrictions of the COVID-19 virus we were cut back to a shorter schedule of 600 hours. Usually out of the 1200 hours we are able to actually ring about 900 hours and make around $30,000 to $35,000. But as I mentioned, all sprin and summer we were told tata there would be NO BELL RINGING. This loss of revenue would have made a huge impact on the monies that we give out to the more than 30 agencies throughout the St. Francvoibs County area. But in the first few days of November, Walmart notified us that we could ring on a limited operating schedule. This was GREAT NEWS, some ringing would be better than no ringing. So we put together a schedule that matchd the guidlines and began to get volunteers to ring. Out of the allowable 600 hours, we were able to schedule around 300 hours of volunteers to ring.
Even though we only rang 300 hours we were able to collect nearly $15,000. This just goes to show how giving this community is. We were told most of the year that due to all of the restrictions of the COVID-19 virus that we were not going to be able to ring at all, BUT WITH EVERYONES SUPPORT WE WERE ABLE TO COLLECT $15,000
THANKS AGAIN!!! WE HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE FALL 2021 FOR A REALLY BIG BELL RINGING SASON
