About United Way of St. Francois County

United Way of St. Francois County exists to strengthen our community by supporting nonprofit partners who meet essential human needs. From food and shelter to health, education, and family stability, we help ensure individuals and families have the support they need to move forward.

We are locally governed, locally funded, and deeply connected to the people we serve. When you give through United Way, your support stays close to home and is directed toward programs already making a difference. We focus on raising resources, investing in effective partners, and creating opportunities for people to take part in meaningful community action.

Our Story

Our roots go back to 1988, when a local partnership ensured holiday campaign funds stayed here to serve families in need. That commitment to keeping support close to home shaped everything that followed.

As the effort grew, so did the vision. The organization expanded to serve the entire county and became the United Way of St. Francois County. The mission has remained steady: bring people together, respond to real needs, and build lasting solutions.

Today

Today, we are an independent 501(c)(3), guided by local leadership and powered by community support. While connected to a national network, our focus remains on the needs we see every day in our own neighborhoods.

Because this is not just where we serve. It is where we live.
